Avex Technologies Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Asahi Iwanaga: Hereinafter "ATS") has released She Sings, As If It Were Destiny, an original animated short film, created in a fully remote work environment using AniCast Maker for the first time. AniCast Maker is a next-gen animation production tool enabling anyone to create animation quickly and easily.
Under its "Strong IP Creation" mission, ATS was established last May to engage in the research and development of technology to help create novel products. As part of this, in collaboration with Avex Pictures Inc. (hereinafter "API"), which works in the animation business, ATS has advanced its research and development project creating AniCast Maker, a next-gen animation production tool that enables animated content to be produced using a smaller number of people, lower costs, and within a shorter time frame than before, to further accelerate the "Strong IP Creation" mission centered on animated works. In a fully remote work environment, ATS has now conducted a demonstration experiment of its new video production model using AniCast Maker. The result of this experiment is an approximately 7-minute original animated video that has been released on YouTube.
■She Sings, As If It Were Destiny
Directed by Nobukazu Sakai, who is a writer, director, and producer at game production company Minori, this video was produced on a short schedule and with a small staff. Production involved 6 main staff members and took around 2 months. In the animation and video business, production has been hindered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Even in this environment, ATS was able to produce this animated short while fully working remotely.
Moving forward, ATS will collaborate with API to combine both companies' expertise in animation and technology, and will also cooperate with internal and external partners to accelerate new IP creation and ensure the growth of existing IP using AniCast Maker. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, ATS will continue its production activities and deliver entertainment.
